Ridgefield Aquatic Club opens full-time assistant swim coach position with total compensation up to over 60,000 USD per year

Ridgefield Aquatic Club, known as RAC, has posted a job opening for a full-time Assistant Swim Coach. The club is a private, nonprofit, year-round USA Swimming team located in Ridgefield, Connecticut. RAC serves swimmers from pre-competitive development through national-level training and competes within Connecticut Swimming. The club is looking for an experienced coach with strong technical knowledge, sound judgment and a genuine commitment to long-term athlete development. The annual base salary is between 49,000 and 55,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications. A performance bonus of up to 5,000 USD is also available. Additional benefits include a 5,250 USD health-insurance stipend, a 1,200 USD phone allowance, a 1,000 USD annual retirement contribution and 14 paid vacation days. The role requires afternoon and evening practices, weekend meets, championship travel and regular administrative hours. The assistant coach will lead assigned competitive groups, including Olympic Way squads, and support other training groups when needed. Duties include creating seasonal and daily training plans, tracking athlete progress, handling meet entries, managing relays, supporting recruitment and maintaining professional communication with families. Candidates must have previous competitive swim coaching experience and the ability to teach stroke technique and racing skills. They must be or become a USA Swimming coach member in good standing before working with athletes. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are required. Experience with USA Swimming University, American Development Model education or ASCA coursework is preferred. Safety is a major part of the job. The coach must follow USA Swimming Safe Sport requirements, MAAPP, the USA Swimming Safe Sport Code and RAC policies.
